With profound sadness and enduring love, we announce the passing of Roosevelt Bryant III, who entered eternal rest on July 18, 2025. A cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend, Roosevelt's presence touched many lives, and his memory will forever be treasured.

Roosevelt was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Roosevelt "Tootsie" Bryant Jr. and Leola Owens Bryant; sister, Shelia Diane Bryant; his brother, Dennis Wayne Bryant; and his dear aunt, Pauline Bryant Sells.

Born on September 18, 1954, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Roosevelt—fondly called "Junior" by his family and friends. He was raised in a loving and extended family. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1972, where he was an active member of both the marching and concert bands. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Air Force. After his military service, Roosevelt held various positions before retiring as a conductor with Union Pacific Railroad. In his later years, he achieved a personal milestone by becoming a fully licensed real estate agent in the state of Texas—an accomplishment that brought him great pride.

Roosevelt's life was marked by love and family. He first married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Batts, and from this union came two children: Davida Batts Abboud (Said) and Roosevelt Delaine Bryant (Mitri). He later married Benita Rawls, with whom he had three sons: John Bryant, Christopher Bryant (L'Oreal), and Terrance Bryant. Roosevelt also shared marriages with Jane Williams and, most recently, Willie Mae Bryant, who remained his devoted spouse at the time of his passing.

Before relocating to Dallas, Texas, Roosevelt was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. His faith, family, and friendships were central to his life.

Roosevelt leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. He is survived by his five children, his sisters Linda Bryant, and Brenda Bryant Rye, and his beloved grandchildren: Imagine, Isaiah, Imani (Hayami-great grandchild), Israel Abboud; Sean and Sydney Bryant; John Jr., Aria Bryant, and Zaiden Bryant. He is also mourned by his beloved nieces and nephews: Taronda & Tracy Moore, Regina Rye and Gregory Bryant. Also missed by his cousins: Dennis Wayne Sells Sr. (Karen), Joyce Jefferson, Diane Sells Faulkenstein, Elouise Sells MacDonald, Louise Sells Below, and Richard Johnson Sr. (Lilly), along with a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Roosevelt Bryant III will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, his devotion to family, and the warmth he brought to every room. His journey on Earth may have ended, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
