Shreveport, LA - Alex Harris Jr. was born in Shreveport, LA, on September 28, 1928, to Alex "Son" Harris Sr. and Everlena Hall Harris. He was a lifelong devoted member of Mt. Corinth Baptist Church. Alex was married to the late Mable Drew Harris for 59 years and had four children. He retired from Friend Piper and Mulkey Interior Decorating and Furniture Company. He was named Shreveport's "Waiter Extrordinaire", as he was dubbed in The Times newspaper article, "Service with A Smile."

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Mable Drew Harris.; He leaves to cherish his memory: brother, Henderson Harris (Los Angeles, CA); children, Alec Harris lll, Bernita Harris Stevenson, Robert Harris (Dover, Delaware), and Nick Harris (Syria) New Orleans; grandchildren, Monica H. Price (Steve), Sean H. Stevenson, Alena Harris, Teryn Stevenson, Keidre Harris, Robert Harris Jr., Nicholas Harris, and Constance Harris Jones (Martel); nine great grands, and a host of family members and friends.
